Overview

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit global environmental organization with more than 2 million members and online activists. We have offices in New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Beijing, China. Our staff of over 500 includes lawyers, scientists, economists, policy analysts and environmental experts work to protect the environment and public health through advocacy and education.

 

Responsibilities

NRDC is seeking an intern to work in its New York office. The intern will assist the Membership department in answering email and phone inquiries from NRDC members and the public regarding NRDC programs and general environmental questions. The intern will perform other membership tasks as required. This is a six month paid internship requiring residency in the NYC area.

Qualifications

  • Open to students currently enrolled in a New York City area college.
  • Interest in progressive causes, with particular interest in environment/ecology a plus.
  • Ability to write quickly in a clear/concise manner.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Internet researching skills.
  • Ability to commit to 20 hours per week.
