The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is recruiting for a Digital Advocacy and Donor Acquisition Specialist.
NRDC is the country’s most effective environmental action group with more than 2.4 million Members and online activists. Its staff of nearly 500 attorneys, scientists, and policy analysts works to protect the environment through courtroom action, legislative campaigns, and grassroots online activism.
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and creative individual to work closely with other digital advocacy and fundraising team members, other Development staff, and our consultants to develop, launch, and manage digital acquisition efforts that bring in new leads for our digital advocacy, membership and donor efforts.
Candidates should have a proven track record building email lists and acquiring new donors and activists through digital channels. You’re intimately familiar with search engine marketing, social media advertising on Facebook and elsewhere, display advertising, incentive and rewards sites like MyPoints, list chaperones and co-registration campaigns, CPM outlets like TheNation.com, CPA vendors like Care2.com and DailyKos. You’re continually searching for the next strategy or tactic that will help acquire strong leads or donors for reasonable costs. You know what kind of creative works for acquisition, what new leads and donors need to receive once converting, and understand what a decent cost per lead, cost per donor, and ROI looks like for a large advocacy organization like NRDC.
You are also comfortable leading data driven programs, and are ready to help our team expand their data-driven decision making and digital reporting.
The position reports to the Senior Director of Digital Advocacy and Fundraising. The position is based in NRDC’s New York office.
