The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit global environmental organization with more than 2 million members and online activists. Our staff of over 450 includes lawyers, scientists, economists, policy analysts and environmental experts work to protect the environment and public health through advocacy and education.
NRDC is seeking an enthusiastic and strong writer to be a Spring, 2018 Energy Communications intern in our Washington, DC, office. He or she must care about environmental issues, be able to meet deadlines, take initiative, be familiar with social media, and possess an understanding of how video, photos, and graphics can help communicate a story. Duties will be varied and are expected to include assisting with Twitter outreach; helping to edit and/or generate fact sheets, news releases, and statements; and assisting with drafting and/or editing blogs for program staff. This is a 15-20/hour per week, semester-long unpaid internship for the Spring of 2018. Applicants must be able to receive college credit for this internship.
The intern will be working with the Senior Energy Communications Strategist. The work will focus on using various tools to promote energy efficiency and support NRDC’s energy advocacy work.
