NRDC was founded in 1970 and our staff helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act, and many of the implementing regulations; our water enforcement cases played a major role shaping current water policy throughout the country. Today, our staff of more than 500 lawyers, scientists, economists, policy and communications experts, and others, work out of offices in New York, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Bozeman, Montana, and Beijing.

     

    Position Summary:

     

    NRDC is currently seeking a skilled Director of Development for Northern California to oversee the major gift program for this critical region. This is a full-time position located in San Francisco, CA.

     

    The Director of Development of Northern California plans, directs, and executes NRDC’s major gift program for Northern California, which currently raises nearly $5M annually. The Northern California Director is expected to design and execute a major gifts strategy for the region. This will include the effective deployment of 2 major gifts officers, who the Director will oversee, and leveraging senior leadership to accelerate giving in the region. The Director will personally manage a high value portfolio of at least 100 donors with capacity to give at the 6 and 7-figure levels. S/he will be a member of the senior team of regional directors of development and will work closely with colleagues in other regional offices to maximize NRDC’s national brand and reach.
