The NRDC Action Fund is an affiliated but separate organization from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). The NRDC Action Fund’s mission is to build political support in the United States for protecting the planet and its people. We mobilize influential constituencies, experts, community leaders and others to directly advocate for clean air and water, public health, biodiversity, and a stable climate. We support candidates who stand up for environmental protection, and we expose those who side with polluters rather than the public good.
The Communications Associate will work closely with the Communications Director to create content for strategic communications and branding materials, manage digital communications, facilitate internal communications, copy-edit, produce social media and blogs, and conduct political and issue research. The Communications Associate works closely with multiple consultants, sometimes directly or indirectly managing them depending on projects. These include: a social media firm, a digital advocacy firm, designers, researchers, writers, and editors. The Communications Associate will also be responsible for managing the work of the NRDC Action Fund’s political research intern. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer, creative team player and fast learner with an interest in the intersection of politics and the environment.
