The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is the nation's most effective environmental action organization. We use law, science and the support of 3.1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things. NRDC was founded in 1970 and our staff helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act, and many of the implementing regulations; our water enforcement cases played a major role shaping current water policy throughout the country. The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has an immediate opening for a Regional Digital Advocacy Campaign Director.
NRDC is increasingly focusing on winning key environmental fights in cities, states, and regions around the U.S., and in taking a regional advocacy approach to federal policy issues. This new position will build a regionally-focused digital advocacy strategy and, over time, a team of digital campaigners to dedicated to supporting growing regional advocacy teams in the Northeast, West, and Midwest to mobilize Members, activists and supporters to take action on local, state and federal advocacy issues.
Ideal candidates will have strong digital advocacy skills and experience, at both the federal and local and state levels (state legislatures, governors, state agencies, etc.), and experience managing staff or volunteers.
The position reports to the Senior Director of Digital Advocacy and Fundraising. We will prioritize candidates who can work in our New York office, but we will consider candidates in Washington, D.C. Candidates must have an ability to travel.
