NRDC is seeking a Senior Budget and Reconciliation Coordinator to work with the Development Donor Systems team in a hybrid role in NRDC's NY office.


Position Summary
This position will support the Development Donor Systems team and senior stakeholders across the organization, playing a critical role managing the coordination of budget reporting and monthly reconciliation between the Development department and Finance and Accounting. 

 

This is a hybrid role and requires a physical onsite presence 2-3 days per week in the New York office location, dependent on scheduling needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support and provide clear communication of annual budget process to senior stakeholders 
    • Support Development Donor Systems Senior Director, Deputy Director, and Development Chief of Staff with annual budget process needs 
    • Management of budget items including revenue goals and actuals in the database 
    • Coordination of budget reporting, including forecasting, progress to goals, and budget entry process, and executive level presentation reporting 
  • Coordinate monthly close reconciliation process with Finance and Accounting 
    • Help establish and facilitate monthly reconciliation close process with Finance and Accounting, assist with the implementation of monthly close software 
    • Act as central point of contact for senior stakeholders in Development and Finance & Accounting for monthly close 
    • Coordinate with Development Donor Systems team to ensure all monthly close related items are completed on schedule 
    • Review financial data integrity and troubleshoot any errors or issues 
  • Support Development Donor Systems team with gift entry and data integrity 
  • Assist with processing gifts from all donor constituencies, as needed and assigned, with emphasis on budget related data entry 
  • Report on and review gift entry in Salesforce to ensure financial data integrity 
  • Adhere to established data standards and practices 

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience:   

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Advanced Excel experience required 
  • 3+ years of nonprofit Development experience required 
  • 3+ years of budget related experience strongly preferred 
  • Salesforce or Nonprofit database experience strongly preferred 

 Skills, Abilities, Competencies  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook  
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of internal constituents 
  • Ability to travel to NRDC U.S. based offices, approximately 40-60% annually

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position, the salary range is $66,500 to $73,000.

 

Our offices are open and we are operating in a hybrid model. We offer NRDCers flexibility, and we ask them to come into the office and spend meaningful time there in collaboration with their colleagues. We call this purposeful presence.
