The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization. We use law, science, and the support of 3.1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure the rights of all people to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities. NRDC was founded in 1970 and our staff helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act, and many of the implementing regulations. Today, our staff of more than 700 lawyers, scientists, economists, policy advocates, communications experts, and others work across the United States and internationally from our offices in New York; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Santa Monica; San Francisco; Bozeman, Montana; and Beijing.   NRDC is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to work with NRDC’s Major Gifts team based in our San Francisco office to manage a portfolio of 100-150 donors primarily located in the Bay Area but encompassing greater Northern California region.   This is an exciting opportunity for creative fundraising professionals with experience in and appetite for prospecting and cultivating new funding relationships or encouraging higher levels of commitment from existing contributors.

E2 is a part of NRDC’s Center for Policy Advocacy Program.   Position Summary:   NRDC is seeking a Clean Energy Summer intern to work with the E2 team in the San Francisco Bay Area.   As part of E2’s focus on promoting and increasing diversity in the clean energy industry, we encourage all to apply, especially those candidates from diverse backgrounds that are often underrepresented in the clean energy sector.   Interns will work with E2 staff in these cities to develop, execute and support initiatives to advance current clean energy initiatives and policies in their regions. They will also help expand and amplify diverse business voices in support of these efforts.    These full-time, paid internships will run for 10 weeks from *June 7, 2021 - August 13, 2021. Interns will be working remotely for the entirety of the internship. Additionally, we will try our best to accommodate you with a NRDC work laptop for the internship.   Undergrad student stipend: $6,000 Graduate student stipend: $10,000   Interns will also receive a one-year membership in E2’s Emerging Leaders program, which comes with the full benefits of E2 membership, including educational, networking, advocacy and other opportunities.   Application deadline is Sunday, April 11, 2021at 12PM ET

Position Summary: NRDC is seeking a Summer Intern to work with the Clean Vehicles & Fuels Team in our San Francisco office.You must be a current undergraduate student at UC Merced to be eligible for this internship. We are currently looking for passionate individuals to bring their unique skills and perspective to help us develop equitable clean transportation policies that cut greenhouse gas emissions and toxic air pollution. As part of this internship, you will:   - Gain exposure to designing equitable clean transportation policies; - Participate in staff meetings and learn how a large non-profit operates; - Participate in meetings with key partners from other environmental and social justice organizations and potentially with state policymakers; - Learn the regulatory processes of state emission control agencies where much of our transportation advocacy occurs; - Interact with other NRDC staff to widen your exposure to various projects and programs; - Enhance analytical research ability; - Deepen written and oral communication skills; and - Leave with completed projects that can be added to your professional resume.
