Position Summary 

NRDC is seeking an Associate Director of Portfolio Management to oversee our new moves management and portfolio management process across several teams in Development--- Principal and Major Gifts, Foundations, Planned Giving, and the mid-level program in our Membership department. The Associate Director of Portfolio Management will utilize metrics and data to audit the health of portfolios; provide assignment/staging recommendations and strategy on cultivation and solicitation plans in regular meetings with gift officers across the above-mentioned teams and manage two coordinators to ensure data entry, standardization and hygiene in Salesforce. 

Reporting to the Development Chief of Staff, the Associate Director of Portfolio Management will manage two Moves Management Coordinators to ensure all information inputted and report fields are up to date and accurate and act as the chief honest broker for the system on qualified moves and metrics tracking on fundraiser performance throughout the year. 

Responsibilities

Organizational: 

  • Manages two coordinators that enter the activities, contact reports and input of all gift officers with assigned donors and prospects.  
  • Creates a tickler system to keep strategies, cultivation and solicitation steps moving. 
  • Collaborates with gift officers and Directors to develop the donor/prospect portfolios of all gift officers. 
  • Provides reports on activities and moves at regular intervals to the Development Leadership Team. 

Strategic:  

  • Monitors the activities, call reports and input of all with assigned prospects; red flagging and taking a proactive coaching role in helping with challenging donor/prospect interactions, communications and other relationship issues. 
  • Keeps the Development Chief of Staff consistently aware of issues that should be handled by Development leadership. 
  • Establishes and publishes the Moves Management Meetings calendar in collaboration with the Directors of each team. 
  • Prepares and coordinates regular moves meetings and organizes all collateral for those discussions.  
  • Works and coaches individuals on managing their prospect pools, strategies and caseloads. •  
  • Works with team leads to develop individual and collective strategies designed to meet short and long term goals 

Reporting: 

  • Collaborates with Donor Systems to produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly log of activities, moves, opportunities and accomplishments.  
  • As requested prepares and gathers data and information related to portfolio management required for meetings of the Board requested by the Chief Development Officer 

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience: 

  • BA or equivalent experience required 
  • 4-7 or more years’ experience working within a large NGO in supporting a moves management system or similar tracking process for donor engagement 
  • CRM experience: preferably Salesforce 
  • Management experience

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position, the salary range is $118,300 to $130,400 

 

Our offices are open and we are operating in a hybrid model. We offer NRDCers flexibility, and we ask them to come into the office and spend meaningful time there in collaboration with their colleagues. We call this purposeful presence.
