NRDC is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization. We use law, science, and the support of 3.1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure the rights of all people to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities. NRDC was founded in 1970 and our people helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act and many of the implementing regulations. NRDC is seeking an Talent Acquisition Program Specialist to work with the People team in one of our NRDC offices. 

Position Summary

Talent Acquisition is dedicated to ensuring that our teams are comprised of diverse and high-performing individuals that help to make NRDC the best and most rewarding place to work. 

 

NRDC is doing work that creates impact around the world and for a better future, and we’re looking for an equally ambitious and skilled Talent Acquisition Recruiter to help us get there. As a Talent Partner and New-to-Career Specialist on our Talent Acquisition team, you will work cross-functionally to ensure best-in-class hiring practices and processes are being followed to create consistent hiring manager and candidate experiences and fair and equitable candidate assessment and selection. This role will also manage the NRDC internship program, in partnership with our functional leaders and office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. You’ll support hiring leaders, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and leverage best practices in order to support our talent goals. Your work will directly impact Talent Acquisition behaviors and hiring decisions. This position will require travel (roughly 20%). Responsibilities

  • Manage NRDC’s internship program, including university partnerships, candidate identification, intern experience andhiring manager experience 
  • Manage the intern lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding 
  • Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the organizations hiring needs for every role, and to meet competitive hiring goals and expectations  
  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle across a variety of open roles, helping managers find, hire, and retain quality candidates  
  • Partner with recruiting team and people team leadership to design, refine, and implement innovative recruitment strategies  
  • Remain active with job boards, social networks, and platforms for finding quality candidates, and create and post job descriptions and announcements  
  • Contribute knowledge and innovative/creative ideas for current entry-level programs and the overall campus recruitment strategy 
  • Create campus interview training content and administer training with different stakeholders.  
  • Measure and obtain process effectiveness; generate reports and create data driven insights that represent the growth of the campus recruiting program  
  • Maintain a directory of partners and calendar of events  
  • Establish measures to evaluate partnership results, short and long term  
  • Represent NRDC’s culture and values in interactions with candidates, partners and stakeholders 

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years relevant experience in recruiting role; experience recruiting for new-to-career talent required 
  • Ability to work independently and proactively problem solve, developing creative approaches to sourcing and engaging candidates  
  • Experience developing and tracking KPIs, analyzing talent data and creating compelling stories from data that impact behaviors  
  • Experience with talent program management  
  • Strong understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in hiring practices  
  • Demonstrated excellence and passion for creating a delightful candidate experience  
  • Enthusiasm for proactively networking and establishing effective working relationships with universities and other suppliers of talent  
  • Detail-oriented in approach to all tasks, whether mundane or mission critical  
  • Appreciate productivity and have a sense of urgency; you’re a believer in Getting Stuff Done  
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and is commensurate with skills and experience. Internal equity will be reviewed and considered to determine a final offer. For this position, the salary range is $100,000 to $110,000 

 

NRDC operates under a hybrid work model. Employees are required to come to the office 8 days per month.
