The team and each team member’s specific responsibilities continue to evolve as we build out our technology platform to support the department and organization as they grow. This is an exciting time during which we can shed old processes and ways of working that are no longer serving the institution. Flexibility, adaptability, and patience will be necessary to perform successfully in this role.    Reporting directly to the Donor Onboarding Manager, the Coordinator supports the Development, Donor Systems, Donor Onboarding function. Donor Onboarding is a gift operations unitthat processes contributions, emphasizing the data integrity of NRDC’s Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databasewhich facilitates a seamless reconciliation with Accounting.    This role is a cross-functional team player who collaborates with otherteams, so donations are processed swiftly and accurately in our Salesforce database. The Portfolio Manager works closely with foundation program officers, NRDC experts, Development leadership, grant writers, and others to develop strategic approaches to funding opportunities. Over the past five years, we have litigated cases against the federal government to prevent climate pollution, challenge agency approvals of toxic chemicals and pesticides, resist the suspension of clean water safeguards, oppose offshore drilling and seismic exploration for oil and gas, defend national monuments, and protect energy efficiency standards, among other matters. We also bring enforcement cases against corporate and governmental entities whose violations harm human health and the environment—including to protect the people of Newark, New Jersey and Flint, Michigan, from lead in drinking water; to remediate toxic pollution in the Penobscot River in Maine; to abate mold in New York City public housing for residents with asthma; and to halt air pollution from a coal-fired power plant in Illinois.  Legal interns play an active role on the frontlines to protect our planet and the communities that depend on it. Our interns do concrete work in support of our litigation, including substantive writing and research, and collaborate with NRDC Litigation attorneys.  The internship typically lasts about 10 weeks, beginning at the start of the intern’s fall semester and ending before exams. Start and end dates and other scheduling details are negotiable, but we look for a minimum time commitment of two days (14 hours) a week over the course of an academic term.This posting will be open until April 15, 2024. This innovative 3-year, 25-city project has as part of its mission using the federal investments under the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to invest in Black communities that have been experiencing dis- and under- investment and largely excluded from green growth opportunities, to target wealth inequities faced by these communities. The Senior Director will sit on the Management and Strategy Committee and be the lead collaborator with BASC partners and participating cities in identifying and implementing economic development strategies that address the causes and risk of climate change while reducing the racial wealth gap.    Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Senior Director will develop the strategy for the Economic Development and Financial Inclusion team and lead and operationalize the people, structures, partnerships, and programs to execute the Department’s advocacy strategy. This role requires a significant amount of collaboration and thought partnership with other internal teams, as we work within a matrixed structure of operation. Among others, close coordination with place-based teams who lead shaping and execution of NRDC's advocacy in specific geographies is critical.    The Senior Director will represent NRDC and the Green Finance and Economic Development Department at internal and external events and forums to elevate our reputation and profile as experts in economic development and financial inclusion. Position Summary This position will support the Development Donor Systems team and senior stakeholders across the organization, playing a critical role managing the coordination of budget reporting and monthly reconciliation between the Development department and Finance and Accounting.    This is a hybrid role and requires a physical onsite presence 2-3 days per week in the New York office location, dependent on scheduling needs.
